Each day your child should write down their assignments in their planner. The students’ planners will be checked before they leave each day to make sure all assignments are written down correctly. Feel free to initial the bottom of the planner as well to indicate you have checked to make sure your child’s homework is complete.
In addition to daily assignments, students need to read their AR books for approximately 15-20 minutes each day. Weekends are also a great time to catch up on reading as I generally do not assign homework on Fridays. The points your child earns for reading AR books makes up 25% of your child’s reading grade. Your child’s point total appears on each AR test page printed upon completion of an AR test.
If you have any questions about the 4th grade homework policy, please refer to the handbook I sent home at Open House. In addition, you may contact me with any questions.
